Public Transit in Peterborough
Peterborough Transit serves most locations within the city 7 days a week. Transit maps and schedules are available on buses or at the transit terminal on Simcoe Street Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or for information call 745-0525. Regular fares are: $2 cash, $6 day pass, $10 transit cards, 30 day passes and season passes are also available.
All regular Peterborough Transit routes have fully accessible buses with an easy access ramp for wheelchair and scooter users. The regular routes that serve Trent University and Fleming College have accessible buses, but all of the express routes have older style buses with steps. Express services to Trent, Fleming College and the Technology Drive area have separate maps and schedules.
The Handi-Van is a special transit service for people that cannot take the regular buses due to mobility impairments. The Handi-Vans are fully wheelchair accessible. The service is provided door to door on an appointment basis. Trans-Cab Service is provided in areas of the City not serviced by regular bus routes. From these areas, you can take a taxi to and from the nearest trans-cab stop for a fixed rate that includes the bus fare.
